Kacchagulla

Ingredients

  • Paneer: 250 gms
  • Powder sugar: 2 tbsps
  • Powder milk: 2 tbsps
  • Grated lemon rind: ½ tsp
  • Flour: 2 tsps
  • Butter: 1 tsp
  • Pista: 10 nos
  • Cherry: 4
  • For garnishing: strips of lemon peel

Directions

    • Mash the paneer with your fingers.
    • Fry the flour upon low heat with the butter for a minute and add to the paneer.
    • Add the powder sugar, orange peel and powder milk.
    • Soak the pista in warm water and remove the peel.
    • Make slices of the pista. Also slice the cherries.
    • Take the paneer in a heavy saucepan.
    • Cook upon medium heat for 2 minutes.
    • Cool and add half of the pista and cherries
    • Cover and keep it in the fridge overnight.
    • Take out and mash.
    • Make desired size balls.
    • Garnish with pista and cherries.
    • To make more attractive use the long peels.
    • Serve with a cup of tea.
    • Can also serve as the last course of a meal.
